These umbrellas are made with a natural canvas cotton and feature a hand knotted trim. It fits in a standard umbrella stand available at most patio furniture stores.. The wooden pole fits in most standard patio umbrella stands and knocks down in the middle for easy shipping.
Our umbrellas are made of natural cotton that has not been treated for waterproofing or UV. If you want to use them for extended outdoors (not just put out for special event and store again) you will need to treat it with an outdoor fabric spray. Please do not leave out in the rain untreated.

Assembly:
- Unwrap the top and bottom pieces and remove protective plastic from between fabric and bamboo spines. Remove nuts and bolts from bottom half.
-Put bottom and top half of poles together. Align holes and put bolts back in (sometimes one side of the hole is easier than the other) then place and tighten nuts.
Opening:
- Easiest with a friend on hand. Turn the umbrella upside down, placing the very top on the ground, and push down firmly on the wooden ring (called a runner) until a hole is visible. Insert the peg in the hole, then turn the whole thing over and put it in the stand.
**If the umbrella turns inside out, don't worry! The bamboo ribs are tough and flexible. Just push or pull gently and evenly to turn it right side out again.
